quote:

Outdoor Life compiled the nine dumbest quotes from politicians and celebrities. They're listed below, but you've GOT to click on the link to read the details.

1) "The Second Amendment only protects the people who want all the guns they can have. The rest of us, we've got no Second Amendment. What are we supposed to do?" -- Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-New York)

2) "What bothers me most about today is that we're getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change." -- Actor Jay Mohr

3) "Congressman Giffords' life was saved and so many others' when very valiant folks stood up to defend themselves and protect themselves, and they did it with ballpoint pens." -- Colorado State Sen. Jessie Ulibarri (D-Adams County)

4) "Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door." -- Vice President Joe Biden

5) "The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans. A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that's what the genesis of the Second Amendment is." -- Actor Danny Glover

6) "We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it's legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines." -- Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California)

7) "If you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available." -- Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado)

8) "It's the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when Nazis came over and created tragic things, and they had to be told off. And if we continue this kind of violence and accept it in our country, the rest of the world's going to really take care of us, in a very bad way." -- Singer Tony Bennett

9) "If there was special interests affecting police work, I believe that would be called corruption. So, if it has do with donating money versus a popular vote, I think we have a bigger problem in this country and somebody's gotta wake up to that." -- Chicago Police Commissioner Garry McCarthy

Yup. This is what happens when fervent belief =/= reality.

Wow! If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure the 2nd amendment was written before Slavery came to the US.

From the article linked in the OP.

quote:

The American experiment has revealed one major flaw with the concept of democracy. Specifically, we elect the dumbest among us.

quote:

The net result is we end up with a bunch of stupid laws supported by people who frequently haven't even read them. We also have to endure moronic quotes from these sanctimonious dunderheads who think they're doing what's best for us whether we realize it or not.

quote:

If you follow the gun-control debate, you know there's no single topic that brings out more emotional claptrap. A statement may be entirely illogical, but if it yanks at the heart strings, we need to pass a new law now! Do it for the children!

She thought that AR magazines could not be reloaded after all the ammo was shot out of them.
