I am drafting at the 12 spot in 2 out of 3 of my leagues and for the past few weeks i have been set on going rb/rb/wr with my first 3 picks. After looking at the scoring leaders from last year it seems that having a combo of elite wr produced signifiicantly more points than the lower end rb1's. Lately i have been thinking of going wr/wr/wr with my first 3 picks.

This would net me something along the lines of
Dez/Brandon Marshall/V Jax at wr and having Bradshaw/Murrray/Daryl Richardson as my top 3 rbs.
This is a 3wr 2rb league.

Thoughts?

I did it. I think your estimation of RBs is a bit over confident.

WR is so deep this year. I'd be wary of any of those 3 at that spot, although I would understand Dez because the upside is there to supplant Megatron as the #1 WR.

I'd grab Graham ahead of Marshall/V-Jax.

i don't know, Marshall was 2nd in wr scoring in our league last year and from what i understand Tressman loves to throw the ball

WR may be deep, but the likelihood of anyone putting up Cavin, Marshall, AJ or Dez numbers is remote. It's deep for serviceable WR2s. Most of the mid-round RBs will put up similar numbers to the deeper WRs. I like the idea of having 3 monster WRs in a ppr league.

OP -Do it.

Marshall's stats started falling off towards the end of last year.

Games 9-16: Yards went down (86), TD's went from 7 to 4, YPC 13.5 to 12.1, same amount of completions on 12 more targets.

OP, do you really want to spend the 12-13th pick on a person who's getting thrown to by the likes of Freeman/Cutler?

People are finally starting to catch on that reaching for rbs is the quickest way to lose a league. Take the most elite players available in your eyes.

just going by yahoo rankings. Obviously it doesn't always pan out like this but there are other options in those given rounds that i would be just as comfortable with.

Doesn't matter how you cut it. This happening = your league is full of noobs. You can try to justify all you'd like.
