Yellow jackets in wall and attic - is the hive finished once Queen is dead?

This weekend while cutting grass I noticed swarming insects around my AC unit. Upon inspection, I found yellow jackets entering the wall of my home through hole where AC lines enter house. I sprayed and killed about 20 of them only to come back 5 min later and have just as many flying around hole again. After this I figured I may have a small problem on my hands. I went straight to the attic and found about 10-15 more crawling around on rafters. I sprayed them dead and I've only seen a few more in the attic since. Yesterday I saw a few more leaving/entering house outside by AC. So I went to Lowes today after work and got a bug bomb. I bombed the hole and about 20 more of the flickers crawled out and died. Then this monster came out

I'm assuming it's the Queen. If so, is the nest done or could I still have problems with them?

I thought queens couldn't really move so if it flew or crawled out it may not be the queen...but I could be way wrong.

The queen is deep in your wall. Rip out your drywall and get all the honey. Yellow jackets make the best honey.

I hope that's the queen. Of the +/- 50 that I've killed, this one is by far the largest. About 3x larger than the rest

If I were you I'd just go ahead and burn the house down. No sense of risking getting stung. Just burn it down and rebuild

That looks like the queen to me. If you got her, then I'd say the nest is done.

does it have black dots in the yellow section of its back? If so it is the queen.

From Wikipedia
quote:

A typical yellow jacket worker is about 12 mm/0.5in long, with alternating bands on the abdomen; the queen is larger, about 19 mm/0.75in long

Plug the hole where you saw them going in or you will never get rid of them.

I have never had problems with yellow jackets until about a month ago. Since then I've had 2 run ins with them while cutting grass at my grandpas and now this shite.

Those things are running my back yard. They are so small sometimes that they just pop out and sting me while im mowing before I even see them.

Really your best course of action is just to light your attic on fire. That should get around 80% of them.

For the last 20%, you may need to use hand to hand combat.
