It ought to be against the law to watch a game in L.A. after being in B.R....

In 1979, LSU lost to USC... I helped start the near riot on the USC busses the night before (insert moronic T.R. comments here)... The great sports writer Jim Murray (won Pulitzer prize - that's an award they give to people who can write complete sentences...) covered the game for the LA Times. The next day he had to cover the NFL L.A. Rams game in the Coliseum. His article that Monday started with, "It ought to be against the law to cover a Los Angeles Rams game the day after covering a football game at LSU in Baton Rouge..." It's the best article on the Tiger Stadium Fun from easily one of the three best sports writers ever. A friend sent me the article back in the day when newspapers were delivered to homes 7 days a week...
I have searched every LA Times archive and every Jim Murray resource I can find... For those T.R.'s with their brains still not completely flouridated so that a wise arse remark is all you can muster (that last word is not a condiment, by the way)... What Other Resources Can I Use to find this article????? Any suggestions??? Or, better yet, how about a smart arse comment... Give me your best shot... or your best help...

I see microfilm (or some digital representation of it) in your future

The microfiche/microfilm area is in the basement of the library. To the OP, I doubt if a librarian is going to do the search for you. However, if you go there, they are always glad to help.

Here's an abstract I found:
The article is called "The Earwitness." It was published October 2, 1979. You can buy it here at the LA Times archive.
