Don't kill me here - another thread on the OT about Hanna Barbera cartoons reminded me that we used to watch an afternoon show with creatures called sleestacks (sp?) on it. Can't remember the name...

Baloo made my day! Thanks - that's it

Between that and the one with the crazy British kid with the talking flute, there were some folks on serious drugs back then

"Lords of Light!" "Demon dogs!"

Thundarr was one of my favorites as a kid. That show was way ahead of it's time.

Land of the Lost.

And there was this one "good" Sleestack that wore a vest or something and he helped the humans. I forget his name. He spoke English, I remember that while the other Sleestacks just hissed.

The opening of that show scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The things you remember.

I loved that show though. Wasn't the ape kid's name Chaka or something?

A golden age that will never come again. Filmation's Flash Gordon was my favorite.

Land of the Lost was a classic. Loved that show.

And just a suggestion, but given the flow of this thread so far, you might want to consider adding something like (and 70's kid show nostalgia thread) to the end of your title line.

Like others...

Land of the Lost
Great Grape Ape

but Hong Kong Phooey with Scatman Carruthers (sp?) singing the song

LINK

but I think the show I loved the most.....Laff-A-Lympics...

If you cheered for anyone but the Scooby Doobies I am going to have to put you down as a terrorist

(it was a cartoon based on a real show I loved..the battle of the network stars)

And if you thought the Sleestaks looked a lot like the Gorn from Star Trek?

It is because it was the same designer.

Sid and Marty Krofft both denied drug use on their productions but for some reason I just don't believe them. Some other good ones from them were Sigmond and the Seamonsters, wonder bug, land of the lost, and dyna girl.

If they didn't use, then they were some really weird dudes.
