What's the max you'd pay for a 16' welded boat with no motor and no trailer???
I've seen a few on craigslist, but I wanted to see what others thought.

That boat used is prob worth $1000 if its in even just decent shape.

Just bare boat on trailer, $1000-$1200 is a good to fair deal. If it has a nice trolling motor attached, wired for lights, livewell hooked up, etc... then maybe up to $1400 or $1500.
I shop/look at boats almost everyday on craigslist and LAS and consider myself pretty knowledgeable in the market. Anything under $1000 is a steal. All prices above are with proper paperwork. Without papers, value drops in half I would say.

Several months ago I picked up a used 16' Carolina Skiff J16 on a trailer and with a 30hp Tohatsu and 56# trolling motor for $900 with papers for everything. It's fiberglass though, but may give you an idea of what you can find on craigslist if you are patient.

Yeah I have been looking pretty hard today, am just interested to see what else others have paid.

As with many things, a lot of ads I see seem overpriced. I think $3,500-5,000 is right for one in good condition with a reliable motor. A lot of guys want $5-6k for old aluminums with old motors. Every once in a while I see a good deal - a month or so ago on La Sportsman was a 16' flat, 25hp tiller (maybe a yammi, can't remember though), trolling motor. It looked great and was set up real nice, you could tell it was well cared for and stored. Guy wanted $5,500. That once was probably worth it.

to answer your actual question, I'd pay $1k.

I have a 12' with a 9.9 hp on a trailer for sale if interested. Papers too. Haven't listed it yet.

already has a 14 ft with a 9 hp that takes forever to get anywhere. Reason for looking at a 16 ft.
Only issue now is the one I looked at today is a 14 ft. I thought it was a 16 from the photo, but the one next to it is like a 17 or 18 so it looked off. Photos were pretty bad and there wasn't really a description other than "boat and trailer"

People aren't reading this part.
$300 would be a good deal for an older one. Tops $700-800 for great shape.

I'm confused. Is eng08 and nhass the same person?

My guess is that nhass posted this because eng08 was looking at boats and they hunt together. Then eng08 chimed in without clarifying. Or they are alters. But that doesn't really make sense because neither one has a lot of posts.

We hunt together, probably should have clarified above.
