TOONCES is DEAD!!!!

It is with great pleasure that I can share that Toonces is dead.
I was over at Tiger People last week and the owner shared with me that LSU will not allow vendors or other entities that sell LSU merch to use that licensed logo.
Good News: Toonces is dead/dying
Bad News: 1) Toonces will still be in shops until they can get rid of that merchandise. Without any new Toonces designs on the way.
Bad News: 2) There is a new logo that LSU has come out with to not necessarily replace Toonces but to still use for a generic image. And according to the owner it is "cartoony.".......F@(K!
The announcement will be made public soon sharing the new logo.
Majority of retail product will only include LSU geaux font and eye of the tiger.
No link, but you can call retailers around and see for yourself.

I will not celebrate until I see this new logo. It would hard for it to be worse than Toonces...but I wouldn't put anything past them at this point.

I usually re-gift any LSU apparel with that logo on it. I prefer just the letters "LSU" above all.

Don't see why they can't just use the block LSU in Geaux font for the main logo. If they want to make another tiger head or something, fine, but let that be secondary.
They really need to make it badass and sharp looking. Toonces looked like a damn baby kitten.
Bengals and Bandits has one of my favorite contemporary logos. It might just need a little more detail.
Obviously remove the swords if it were to be official.

The Beanie Tiger is "cartoony" and I love that version.
It's my second favorite after the circle Tiger head on the helmet.
The eye is good too, as is the GEAUX font.
Just glad to see that jumpin pussy cat fade into oblivion.

This. I grew up listening to LSU football on the radio in the 60s and early 70s. The block letter logo was fine then and it is fine now.
I won't buy any LSU merchandise without the block letter logo. I've received gifts with the newer logo, but if I'm buying it, it's gonna have the block letters of old.

At this point ANYTHING but Toonces.......but as stated by someone above, I too am concerned about the new "cartoony" logo.
