One of my best fantasy football moments. I had Aaron Rodgers as my regular QB and nobody else to replace him, so I picked up Flynn as a free agent figuring the Packers' passing game would make him look good even in a meaningless game. Was not disappointed.

And Jbeam. Dude must get a text message every time Matt Flynn is mentioned on this board and shows up within minutes to bash him into the ground. His life revolves around Matt Flynn. It's quite sad.

I thought the same thing when Drew Brees came to NO, Geaux Matt!

Diff situation. Drew was coming around then got hurt. For years we were a fringe playoff team and won our furst playoff gane ever under haslett but had a shitty qb.

Also the combo of sean and drew is really what lit a fire in the offense. Just dont see that happening in oakland.

I think matt will be fine, they just wont win too many games.

Doesn't take much to beat out Pryor, he should have the inside, outside, and middle track over him

He's going to tear it up out there, by Oakland standards of course

Matt's good at those quick slants and screens, exactly what Oakland needs since they can't protect the QB and lets defenders through a lot. He's fairly mobile so that should help too.

Now hopefully those receivers can actually catch something. Oakland's just a TOUGH place to do well.

Flynn, a backup in college at LSU to former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, has started just two games in five seasons as a pro.

A perfect example of what people mean when they talk about the difference between journalism being "accurate" and being "truthful". The statement is, no doubt, accurate. Flynn was, indeed, Russell's backup. In 2006. What is needed to make the point truthful is that he was also the starting quarterback on LSU's 2007 national championship team.

In a game that meant NOTHING for either team. I was impressed with the NE game though......

I think you will find, if you look, that the game was very significant to the Lions, just not to Green Bay, which makes his performance more credible than you imply.

Stafford was 36 for 59 with 520 yards in a 41-45 loss. Hardly a lay down and let it go performance by him.

Detroit was 10-5 going into that game and it had playoff significance for them. If they won they beat out Atlanta for the best wild card spot, playing a lower seeded team (Giants vs. Saints--maybe not such a big advantage, but Detroit did not lay down and die.)
