Not certain if it has been discussed at length by the board, but I find this album to only get better after each listen. When your favorite track changes after each successive, listen then I feel you have a really quality album. Initial fav was "Live Oak" now "Elephant"

Def a top 5 album for me this year. Curious if it would deliver in a live atmosphere.

I've been thinking about getting it, love all of his stuff with DBT and solo, sounds like it'll be my next music purchase

"It's Jason Isbell, ladies and gentleman," David Letterman said after shaking Isbell's hand following the singer/songwriter's assured performance on the July 23 "Late Show with David Letterman" broadcast.

Letterman continued, "You should buy this," referring to Isbell's new, critically lauded and top-25 debuting album "Southeastern." "We know if you don't buy it and we'll come after you. And I'll tell you how much I love these people: I once drove all the way to Montana to see them play. It was tremendous. Jason Isbell, ladies and gentleman. The album is 'Southeastern.'"

Lol, I grew up a few miles from isbell. His dad lives about a half mile from me. I'm glad southeastern turned out as well as it did. I was worried about the sobriety and his marriage to Amanda shires. Shauna Tucker, his last wife, went to school with me and "Amanda" which "codiene" is about is a local bartender.

I love isbell, he is a great singer/songwriter.... I hope his success continues and he gets all the fame he deserves.

I wish he stayed around here and still wrote songs about here... But such is life... He writes about what he knows and that is honest and true no matter where he lives.

After about 25 listens, I think "Yvette" is the top track.

The Bottle Rockets are great... One of my favorites from that golden age of alt-country... Henneman used to be an Uncle Tupelo guitar tech, too...

I remember seeing them at The Mag in St. Francisville a couple of times... played until the cops shut them down...

My favorite BR tune Indianapolis

They just announced that s/t debut & The Brooklyn Side is being reissued... a must buy!
