Exactly. Weiland IS STP. His personality fits that band so well.

I think Scott Weiland is grossly overrated by many on this board. He's the second coming of David Lee Roth. Rock and roll clowns.

I'm of the opinion that once any band changes their frontman, that the band isn't or shouldn't be expected to be the same. Its his voice that is the band. Diff voice = diff band.
Unless you're doing like the movie "rock star" and replacing frontmen who all sound alike.

Love STP and thought Weiland was perfect. While the Deleo boys are good, SW put them over the top. I hate that he is such a douchebag.

I'll agree with you here. Even sober, it was noticeable that the drugs took their toll on him.
The entirety of STP pretty much said that they didn't want to lose Weiland, but that he had gotten so out of control that they couldn't stand to have him in the band anymore.
I don't think Chester was a poor choice FWIW. He brings the star power to the lead singer spot at the very least. He also sings some songs fairly well, but you can tell that he struggles with others. "Dead and Bloated" is a decent example of a song I think he did justice too. Further, he doesn't sing STP songs with the same presence that he does LP songs. You can tell that he paid attention to the Weiland mannerisms and is putting forth the proper effort at least.
I'm a huge HT/Meteora honk, but there is no way in hell that I would pony up $125 to sit on the floor of an STP w/ Chester show even though I disagree with most here on Chester.
If anyone got to see a Linkin Park show pre-Minutes to Midnight, I think they would have a different opinion on the man. He's one of the best frontmen I've seen live imo.
