New siding or brick

We have a 27 year old home. It has one side brick and 3 sides Masonite siding. The siding is starting to fail. We have some Hardie installers coming out to give us quotes.
How much more would it cost to just rebrick the whole damn house. If we stay here for 20 years we would have to paint the siding at least two or three times so I would want to figure that into the cost.
My pure guesstimate is that we have 3000-3500 sq ft of walls to brick.

Don't have a clue how much it would cost but brick is a better insulator.

I would be curious as to the weight difference between brick and hardi-board.
If you live somewhere where settling is a problem, would it be helpful to reduce ground pressure?

That brick needs to sit on a concrete ledge. That would need to be tied into the home slab. I bet a bunch...

This.
Gotta pour a brick ledge and anchor that to the slab.
Gonna be a huge problem.
Go with the pre-finished Hardi.

You'll never find bricks to match.

I had the same problem with the masonite siding. I just put vinyl siding over it. I wanted to do hardi plank but it was too expensive.
