Fourchon or GI for the weekend?

Staying in Grand isle this weekend. Have had some luck around there but have had most success on barges at Fourchon this summer. Any reports this week for either of these areas? If we stay in the GI area will likely either fish the rocks in front on the east end or in front of Elmers Island (wind and weather cooperating that is). Any suggestions?

Thanks

I thought you were going to try for bull reds in the pass?

At some point-yes, either mid day or afternoon with the falling tide. Thinking more of the early bite for trout. Going to try to cram as much fishing as I can this weekend.

Same here, I'll be hitting some marsh, the beach if calm, and the pass. Probably in this order:
Beach
Marsh
Pass

Rinse and repeat...who the heck knows?

Good Luck

I've got to get a boat someday. Kayaking is fun, but I've been doing it a lot this year and I'm ready for some boat fishing.

water was crystal clear on Elmers last weekend. Rocks in front of GI, Grand Terre, platforms up Barataria, 4 Bayou camps.

ST with the winds being out of the S SW this weekend......I assume the back side of the islands will work the best?

you'd be surprised. WE had a south wind a couple weeks ago and did well on the beach

I don't care. I'm going anyway! I have a 3 month old. Been planning this trip for a month. Nothing's stopping me.

Depending on the tides and water conditions, there are some killer spots in the bay. Just looked for marked reefs

Yup, and is why I wasn't planning on going. Think I just fish close to home.

I'd hit the beach first to see if its fishable. With the wind shifting like it has been, the water conditions are going to change.
