OB Dog Discipline Question

My Pop is keeping my brother's dog for the week while brother and family are at the beach. Dad goes out to cut grass and leaves the dog in the camp (my folks have pretty much moved to the camp since retirement). He comes back in after 30 minutes to find the dog has pulled back and shredded about 30 sf of carpet around the door. I went up yesterday afternoon with my daughter to shoot some cans (beer cans, not Afri-cans, Mexi-cans, or any other kinds of cans) and saw the floor.
If you were my Pop, would the OB:
1. Make brother pay to replace the floor.
2. Make the repairs and tell brother not to worry about the cost.
3. Shoot the dog.
In all seriousness, this dog has done stuff like this at its own house dozens of times. She has eaten about $2,000 of my sister-in-law's shoes over a 3 yr period. I told him to haul the dog off (dead or alive, doesn't matter to me) and tell my brother it ran away. Since I know the OB is borderline OT sometimes and gives a shite about the "feelings" of animals I won't give you the option of hauling it out into the country to let it survive on its own.

Use the skin of dog to replace carpet.

Dog has some kind of anxiety disorder. I saw a special on this once but don't remember how it is remedied.

I sure as heck wouldn't be offering to watch the dog. I would tell my son, brother or whoever that they just need to pay to have the dog boarded. And yes, he would absolutely be paying to fix my carpet.

how good of a bird dog is it?

I'd surely begin with not letting that SOB in the house. String him up a wire with a pulley and a leash.

It should be recognized by now and the dog left in a kennel...

Kennel it and brother pays for new carpet.

2.
I cannot image a scenario where I make my son pay for something.

I would sit down with the dog and try to understand what it's acting out this way. Maybe bring in Dr. Phil. Or possibly have an intervention with all of the family and some of the dogs closest friends.
Or I'd just whisper into it's ear...."you're just a frickin dog"
