Lawn Maintenance q: do you trim before or after you cut?

I've always trimmed (weed-eat & edge), pushed, then rode. I have up pushing a while back and weed-eat a little more. The last few times I cut the grass with my riding mower first then came back and trimmed.
A) it lets me get as close as I can with the mower and trim less
and
B) it shows me the grass height I need to get with my weed eater (I was having problems with a different elevation when I trimmed first then cut).
Anyone else cut then trim?

I'm not sure, but as precise as you are, you could make my wife happy.
Wait, that didn't sound too good.

Your supposed to trim first so the mower chops up the longer clippings

I concur with the Beamster....cut, trim, edge, blow...

Weed eating/trimming after you cut is like intentionally waiting until after you shower to drop a deuce.
Trim, Edge, Cut, Blow.
Trim, Edge, Cut, Blow.

I've heard the 'you end up chewing up the trimmings' philosophy, but in all honestly, if you don't wait until the grass is super tall, you can't really tell.
And if it bugs you just use the blower to spread them a little?

I mow, edge, trim, blow.
I mow and edge before trimming, so I can come back with the trimmer and make sure everything gets hit. Any spots I might have missed with the mower, and and wild blades of grass left on the edge.
I trench edge around my flower bed edge, and usually round up my back fence line, so usually not much trimming to do.

I trim after - I want to make sure I get what I missed with the mower. If I trim first, then mow, I probably can't get everywhere with the mower.

I don't do my own yard. I'll have to ask Pedro.

Trim, Edge, Cut, Blow.
This is the correct response

My boys and I attack it all at once. So it's simultaneous.

trim, mower. use the mower to blow off the driveway at the end.

I bag the clippings when i mow, so I trim, edge, blow the clippings onto the lawn and mow.

Roundup...it's for places you can't reach with the mower.
