I am willing to pay someone for lessons. Any PhDs in cast net throwing willing to take up the challenge?

If you're willing to fly out to Northern CA I could show you all you need to know but that might be a little pricey for you.

Yes the momentum and the way it is held, if it is a large net many people hold part in their teeth to keep it swinging right out of the gate

Yeh...to me the fold is the most important part of it. To me you can figure the"swing" out through trial and error. But if you ain't holding that bitch right, your screwed.

Practice makes perfect, check out a YouTube video and go from there.

I'm pretty advanced, but to stay sharp I always practice while standing on a chair to mimic like I'm on a boat.

Use your mouth to hold it. Works like a charm.

I'm a semi-pro. One thing I can tell you is don't use the mouth version or hanging it over your back. Use the coonass method.

Get the one with the ring in it. Much easier.

I use the mouth version with a slight modification. I never did like putting the damn thing in my mouth, so I took a wooden clothes pin, ran a shoe string through it, and filed down the clamping part on the end of the clothes pin until it would release just how I wanted it to.

I use the over the back method......i don't use the mouth method. i was tossing a net when i was younger in little lagoon and apparently netted a nettle and didn't know it. I had a tentacle apparently draped from my nipple to the small of my back. imagine if that was in your mouth.

all that being said i could use some lessons myself so imma check out youtubes

I learned when I was a kid with braces. For that reason I don't use the mouth technique.

My 16 year old is a boss with that net. We use it to snatch shad for bass.
