I bought some cherries from the produce section about a month ago. I popped out the seeds and put them in a jar. I then filled the jar with W L Weller Bourbon. I added a little sugar as suggested to me. I will let them soak untill Augusrt. The Bourbon is a deep red color. I tested a cherry and it has a kick. The bourbon has a cherry taste and the cherries taste like chewable Bourbon.
Should be a nice addition (the cherries and Bourbon) to some ice cold Coke and ice.
Anyone soak cherries or other fruits? Not the moonshine or 190 cherries

Never done it, but it sounds good. Let us know how it turns out..

The cherries should be a nice addition to an old fashioned!

My da used to make bounce when he wanted some. I had the pleasure of savoring a Caribbean version of it on St Croix. It consisted of some damned good rum and a fruit of some sort aged by my older nieghbor, it put a kick in your arse, but you didn't want to stop drinking it.

I do this for an old fashioned but I use dehydrated cherries, brandy, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom

I started my cherry bounce late June.
I won't open it until the first home game of the season.
My method is bliss.

Should add a vanilla bean pod stick thing (whatever it's called). Vanilla cherry bourbon sounds even better.

Sounds like a helluva idea, Clark.

I never heard of Cherry Bounce before. Just figured I would soak some for a a couple of months. Looking into "cherry bounce" I see what I will do for this winter.
Cherries, Sugar, Bourbon, and soak.
I see some put sugar and cherries in a sauce pan for 20 minutes or so, let cool, and add vourbon to soak for months
Then I see some add cherries and sugar to a jar and let get right for a few weeks. Then add bourbon and let soak for months.

Cool.
FYI it's one of Americas oldest drinks.
My grandparents in 70769 always made it.
I'm following their trend.
The best cherries are the native choke cherries.
Bing cherries work well though.
Steep cherries in whiskey for three months.
1to1 ratio.
After 3 months make a simple sugar/syrup.
Add to alcohol (strained) to taste.

Yes.
The photo I posted is from a tree of mine in 70769.

I thought I heard she was into pot. George would come home, she would have a big fat bowl waiting for him, man, when he come in the door, man, she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man.

I'm not sure about pot but the Washingtons grew copious amounts of hemp.
