Today´s XI vs. Granada:

quote:

Diego López; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric; Isco, Özil, Di María, Cristiano; y Benzema.

Half of that starting 11 has been rumored to be sold... you think any of them actually go?

Diego Lopez is very good, currently better than Iker. I wonder if Iker would actually leave.

I´ve got no idea.

Arbeloa, Benzema and DiMaría all are expendable, IMO.

I also hope Özil isn´t forlorn.

I am a big fan of Ozil. Would hate to see him go to Arsenal. I obviously wouldn't like any of them going.

Come on Madrid, I thought we had a "partnership"

Watched ~2/3 of the game today. He was allowed to play (start) centrally in a formation that resembled Mourinho's lopsided formation more than just about anything that Ancelotti has put on the field during his tenure. Mesut looked much more comfortable. Benzema appeared to have a purpose. Ronaldo still looks like he is in a funk but probably could have stumbled his way to a hattrick on another day.

I am not sure if the shift is a permanent change or if it was dictated by injuries in the midfield.

Real Madrid looked a lot less cramped attacking than they were against Betis with Ronaldo allowed to play in his desired role out wide left moving to wherever the frick he feels like and di Maria out wide right. It helped that Khedira and Modric weren't pushing wildly into the attacking third, either. They also looked a lot less vulnerable defensively without Modric and Khedira's inability to appropriately break into their defensively shape.

There was no Khedira yesterday, he´s injured.

Isco was back there. He did well, as always, and Modric surprised, as one willing to put the leg in, when needed.

Yesterday was a W, that´s about all you can say.

Ozil needs to play up the middle. If you're going to try to force him out wide, you're not going to get him at his best. Might as well cash in if that's the plan, IMO

That is a relief about little Mes. I would like to see Madrid wait until the winter window before adding Falcao.

Cheryshev wants to be transferred to Zenit, in order to be eligible for the WC.

I read somewhere that Ancelotti wants a more modern AM than Ozil

Could you find that article?

I really like avatar eyes, and I´d be sad to see him leave RM before winning anything of merit (Liga or CL).

Can't find it, but I remember it making some good points. Real Madrid with a Kroos, Oscar, etc would be better than with Ozil

Kroos is even more lackadaisical than Ozil, likes to hang back. I thought by modern day CAM, you meant more like an Isco, Gotze, Draxler, etc.

Modern day attacking mids are dynamic. They are obviously fantastic passers, but they also work hard and put in solid defensive work.
