You people are crazy

The best team is the team that wins a championship. Always.

Maybe we can add 2013 to the intimidator with best team in baseball underneath it

LSU is still the best in baseball this year.

we were the best team in college baseball for the majority of the season, but we got weaker down the stretch and couldn't get it done when it counted.

Even after going 0-2 at the CWS

With 6 other teams having their season last longer, how many fans STILL say LSU is the best?

I say 40%. Maybe more

You gotta win. Everything else in BS.

You will never convince me that Fresno St. was the best college baseball team in 2008. Will not happen.

... the 2 teams in the final are mediocre ... I , for one , won't be watching their pathetic play on the field either ... two blah unseeded teams in the finals ... half the runs unearned , .180 batting averages ,... bleh ..

One of those pathetic teams basically ended LSU's season. Where does that put LSU?

So they are the team that was the best at the best time of year.

Wouldn't you make the argument that the best teams play their best when it matters the most?

this is what I say

LSU and UNC were the two most talented teams in omaha. I don't think many would argue against that

I think UCLA has played the best in omaha.

LSU didn't play as well as they could of and I think experience may have hurt them

UNC wasn't playing their best baseball coming into omaha. They had to squeeze past everyone to get to omaha.

MSU and UCLA are top 20 talent teams but they got hot at the right time.

OSU had bad bounces all series

UL just sucked

Indiana had their steam run out

NC state didn't really have much outside of rodon.

Talent

LSU UNC is one and two

as far as best team goes taking everything into consideration.

I would say

its one of these four teams
UCLA
MSU
UNC
LSU

(I put UNC and LSU in there because of their talent)

best team doesn't win the title, the team who played the best wins the title. But championships aren't for who has the most talent, what team can perform and succeed when they face the best talent in the country. UCLA and MSU have done that LSU UNC didn't that is why they didn't win despite having the most talent.

Well as you said earlier it depends on how one defines the "best".

I do believe every team that wins it all is the best because they had enough talent, and executed well enough when required, to do the things necessary to win a championship.

That does NOT mean they were the most talented team, and frequently more talented teams do not win it all. But a more talented team's inability to execute with their superior talent shows they were lacking in a quality required to be a champion, so they were not the best.

If a team with the hardware is arguably not the best, then a team without it has even less of a claim to that title.

A 60 game sample > 2-5 game sample. UNC, Vandy and LSU proved over 3+ month's and 60 games that they were the best teams, that did not make the finals doesn't change that.

Even if MSU wins the next 2 games, they have more post season loses than LSU.

But they will have something that LSU won't to represent the wins that they got.

Winning the CWS doesn't necessarily mean u have the best team.

Tell that to the '91, '93, '96, '97, '00 and '09 teams that won it all. It means that you won when it counted the most.

There is no who is the better baseball team.
Who won the last game in the tournament is the winner.

In Omaha's stadium, UCLA's attacking small ball was the best this year.

Play all the games over again, and a different team would win. That is baseball.
