I've been listening to this for a week. It's my favorite new album in a while. I think the song "Some Days" is the first time I've heard the word "honky" used like that in a song.

Bump for a great album. It supplanted Jason Isbell as my can't stop listening to album of the moment.

I'm seeing Sturgill tomorrow night in Birmingham. So excited, but concerned it will be a very small crowd.

His album is still available to stream on his website.

Since this thread I've heard SS several times on Sirius Outlaw Country; not saying it wasn't there before, just now I notice.

BTW, do you only like bands with alliterative initials i.e. AA, TT, SS?

He did a really good interview on there with one of those douche DJs. Seems like a really cool dude.

SCM posted something about him a while back and I gave it a listen. First thing I thought of was Johnny cash when I heard the guitar. I like sturgill a lot. He's got talent but has the rough honky tonk sound that popular country is missing

I purchased this album the other day and it's very solid. I missed this thread from a couple months ago, decided to ressurrect it. True country.

One of my favorite albums this year and its been a very strong year for my kind of music.

Only Moreland's in the throes beats it out in my opinion. Although Isbell's Southeastern comes very close.
