The stupidest rule in college baseball is back.

OU is the home team tonight by rule, and they won the coin flip for a potential game 3.

"Congratulations, LSU. You are #1 in the country. You are a national seed. You earned the right to host a Super Regional and will play a 2 seed. You beat the third pick in the MLB draft in game one.

Now you are the visitors the rest of the weekend. Sorry."

I don't think this is as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

It's not a big deal at all. Plus this gives sections 102 and 101 the visitor bullpen.

It really is. Batting last gives you a huge advantage. You know exactly how many runs you need.

Ask UNC if they would have preferred to be home or visitors last Monday. If they were visitors, they would have gone through the motions in the top of the 9th and then lost to FAU's six run rally.

And if it is overrated and really doesn't matter, then why give Oklahoma the option at all? Or why wouldn't they just volunteer to be the visitors all weekend?

LSU has to have the whiniest fanbase ever.

It obviously matters a little bit. But really though it is not going to determine who wins this series. With a closer like cotton and our bats not facing Gray, being the visiting team does not worry me in the least. Thus making it not a big deal.

It is a big deal. Being home is a huge advantage in a close game.

I agree, but the OP does have a point.

I also can't stand the rules for who is home/away at regionals as well.

For example, I think the #1 team should decide if they want home/away for game 1. If I'm a #1 seed, I take the away options vs #4 in game 1, which allows me to be the home team in the critical game 4.

I'm rambling now, but I see the OP's point. LSU should be the home team Sunday if a game is needed.

shhhhhhh....if we point out facts we are "whiney."

The Saints should have just volunteered to play the NFC Championship Game in Minnesota in 2009. It really does not matter being the home team in any sport.

Doesn't matter we have home field advantage 11,000+ behind us. Who cares if we are the visitors we will be it in name only we will get a big advantage with the feel of the crowd.

In terms of NCAA rules this is a neutral site not a home site. Higher seed gets first home game lower second with coin flip determining last game.

We have not lost an away series all season. I think we are fine.
