I'm 8 episodes into season 2. I've watched all of it since Sunday when I started it on Netflix.

Obviously I'm enjoying it, or else I wouldn't have gotten this far this quickly. But I haven't found it to be as good as you folks describe.

At this point, The Shield is significantly better. I use that as a reference simply because neither is a premium channel show.

I'll continue watching, and hoping it gets a little better. Like I said, I am enjoying it, just not loving yet.

You just need to watch and judge the show on its own merits and not try to compare it with, or see if it matches/exceeds, the hype that people put on it.

There isn't really a show around that can win that game.

I had the same issue with The Wire that the OP has with Breaking Bad.

I came into it late after people were talking about how it was the (insert superlative/hyperbolic statement here)

With the weight of those expectations, I thought it was an excellent series but didn't match the enormous amount of whatever that I had heard about for two years.

I'm a fan of the show and I'll say it's not as good as people say.

I did this thread last week, and I'm right there with you.

Its a good show, but I don't get the sycophantic praise for it.

He's my favorite character in the show thus far.

Like I said, it isn't like I dislike the show; in fact I have been enjoying it. You don't watch a season and a half in less than a week if you don't enjoy it.

But if I couldn't watch episodes like it was a movie (consecutively, not waiting a week between each) then I might have jumped ship.

Tuco was awesome, I wish he'd have been a part of the show longer, but I'm sure there are more of these characters to come.

I just saw the decapitated head on the turtle episode last night, pretty good.

It's ok to not like something. This is America. Stop watching it.

Then it's probably never going to hook you. Besides, The Shield is a really good show, too.

That's funny. I'm midway through season 3 and really enjoy it. It's pretty enthralling. I don't generally allow other people's opinions to influence my opinion of things. As with every show, there are some slow parts, but it generally picks up at a very rapid pace after...it's great. I will say you're in for a hell of a ride with season 3.

Also the "that's funny" comment is because it's coincidental we're both starting it from the beginning so late in the game. I plan on buying seasons 4 & 5 next week.

I'm with you. It is a decent show, but I don't get where it is one on the best all time. I personally think Justified is a better show than Breaking Bad, but apparently I'm in the minority on that.

I like Justified too. Good show. I will start watching seasons two and three after I finish watching season 3 of Breaking Bad. I loaded up on tv shows to watch offshore.
