IRS official who refused to testify facing more scrutiny over scandal, past

I find the questioning of the Chrstian Coalition group to be offensive.

quote:

In the 1990's, Lerner also served as chief of enforcement at the Federal Elections Commission.

Under her direction, the FEC undertook the largest enforcement action in its history -- suing the Christian Coalition for violating campaign laws. The Christian Coalition won, but in one deposition, FEC lawyers asked a defendant if televangelist Pat Robertson prayed for him.

James Bopp, the Christian Coalition's lawyer, said he was "shocked and appalled" by that.

Next thing we'll hear is that our president was part of some sub-prime mortgage law suit against Citibank .

The Old General walked up to me in the locker room this morning.
Him: Did you see that Lerner woman on TV?
Me: No, but I read about it.
Him: She never should have read that opening statement.
Me: Because it conflicts with her invoking the 5th amendment?
Him: No. Because she looked and sounded guilty as hell.

She seems to have an impressive CV in federal government. The FEC filing a suit against a religious non-profit under the old laws pre-USSC decision. IRS withholding of and interrogations of non-profits for three years along with 100,003 bonus for being a good civil servant. Now head of IRS health records division with a bit of hinting of 60 million records illegally obtained recently.
