Lets talk All Star rods

I'm in the market for a few new rods and I know this board has positive things to say about them. Was looking at them today and noticed that they said "Spinnerbaits", "jerk baits", "worms", etc on the rods. I'm not going to buy one for each application so what should I get for more of an all purpose? I'll need two baitcaster rods and one spinning rod.

Been a while for me and Allstars but a 7 foot med to med/heavy graphite should do what you want. I don't know shite bout flippin so.......
Good rods....

i got away from Allstar and Castaway. switched to a Falcon and it made an arse of them. the A and C rods had a thick graphite base, which to me seems to take the feel out of it. a Falcon is thin and tight, so you feel everything. Just my HO.

FWIW, I hate rods that say flippin, wading, popper, etc. Dont tell me how to use my rod dammit! The best all around rod would be a 7' M fast action IMO.

7 foot med action Veritas with mini guides.
But, All Star with lifetime replacement is a fine deal.

How do you claim a warranty with all star? Just return to academy?

Amen. I always figured that was just another gimmick to get people to buy more rods anyhow.

i like shorter rods. I have 2 popping rods and one worm. i'm going to get another and try to get a stiffer one, probably a worm.
All allstars. When i'm an OT baller i'll buy some nice shimanos

Depends on what baits you like to fish. Worms or jigs i'd get a heavy 7', the rest i mainly use 6.5' medium heavy

Well I don't fish freshwater that much but when I do it's worms or jigs. When I fish saltwater I'm all over the board with my baits. Carolina rigged, topwater, plastics, hardbaits, swimbaits, spoons, frogs, popping corks...

That makes me say all 7' heavy or medium heavy which ever one feels better.

7" is the first thing for specks. Or bass
I put a "light worm" on my new Lews rig. Like it, but nothing like my flacon bucoo 7" med-light
If you're looking for inexpensive quality, buy a 7" Berkeley lightning rod
If you're looking for medium price with quality buy falcon or Allstar
If you're looking for high dollar and performance buy Duce rods(twisted rods)
All lifetime

Do not like them since Academy bought them out...
Bought 2 Falcon BuCoo micro and I love them.
Lightest rods I fish and they can handle a 5lb bass with ease....

Look at the new Daiwa, Procyon and Daiwa t rods.. Also those technique specific were invented by G Loomis and had real differences they knew how to build into the rod, like a super short tip in a spinnerbait rod that let you cast exactly where you wanted but locked up for power, the Crankbait felt like a super light fiberglass rod so the hooks would not pull out ect.
I use to build custom rods.

+1
I love my Falcon. I have a 6 foot ultralight that has handled everything from bluegills to 15 lb channel cats with no problem.

I agree with lsufan 112001 concerning Falcon rods. Normally fish the marsh for specks and reds and have two 7' medium spinning rods and two 7' casting . Can't beat the sensitivity, and the tip is lively enough to make casting easy.

Most of my baitcasters have been 6'6" or 7'. Most of my bass fishing is done with plastics. I got a 7'6" med-fast Skeet Reese (they were BOGO @ $79 so a buddy and I figured we'd try them out). I flat out love it. With the extra length, it takes the slightest movements to work a worm or lizard like a champ. I'm going for trout/reds/flounder/mackerel in a couple weeks. I'll let y'all know how they work with DOA's and Gulp.
