I have a crap load of crawfish tails in my freezer from previous boils this year and thinking about making gumbo this weekend. I know some people stop making Gumbo when the weather warms up. What is your opinion on the topic?

make it.

i typically only make gumbo from Oct. to March but that is mainly out of habit...that is when my mom tended to make it.

but if you are craving gumbo, i say make gumbo...

Someone once said, "If the AC is running, it's gumbo weather!"

Not sure who though.

I make it more often when it's cold (just like chili) but I make it year round.

I'm having chili and tamales for lunch leftover from supper.
I like to make veg soup in the summer also with the good summer veggies. Good time for tomato basil soup also.

There's absolutely no reason to not have gumbo allyear long. Good food is good food.

Makes more sense to make a pot of gumbo in the hot summer months inside with the AC on than it does to stand over a hot bbq pit or smoker outside in the heat, to me.

Gumbo is year round good eats.

If I had as many crawfish as you claim to have, I'd be making some etoufee too.
