Pippen all around better player, Carmelo better pure scorer, obviously.

Pippen is one of the NBAs 50 best.

Pippen is a better individual player and a better team player. You don't get to see the individual player because he was such a good team player.

Pippen was one of the best defenders of all time. Carmelo has gotten better, but it still average

Melo is a much better shooter/scorer. Pippen was probably a better over all player in his prime, but his prime was overshadowed and/or short lived.
