Scotty would destroy Carmelo in 1 on 1.

Oh, so NOW you are looking at team accomplishments.

No. I am looking at the totality of what makes a basketball player. I am pointing out that your reliance on scoring stats as definitive is stupid. Your stubbornness in not admitting it is beyond stupid.

The stats are the stats. Melo has scored more and rebounded for as many balls for his career (average per game).

No, stats are shite in this case. Pippen played until wayyyyyy past his prime and those numbers are averaged in there.

Learn about stats before posting them.

Pippen would beat Melo 7/10 times in 1 on 1 IMO.

Scottie Pippen was a great player, but to say he is a better basketball player overall than Melo is just asinine.

And I'm pointing out that you definitively finding them irrelevant is equally as stupid.

Pippen did stay in the game way to long though. He was with the Bulls in 2004 and played in Sweden as late as 2008. This argument is "In their prime" and Pippen wins hands down.

Opposite bub.

BETTER OVERALL basketball player? Are you kidding? Pippen could do it all. Melo scores well. This is laughable that you call us asinine.

If by asinine you mean obvious, I agree.

They aren't irrelevant. In fact, my first post in this thread was to say that Melo is clearly the better scorer and shooter of the two.

In 17 years, Pippen never averaged more than 22 ppg in a single season. Maybe you should look at the stats before commenting on them.

The [OVERALL] part is what YOU are not getting. Being a great scorer is just part of the complete bball player. I notice you have not ONE time told ALL OF US how GREAT a defender Mello is........

Melo might be a better scorer overall but Pippen actually played defense.

Buddy boy, no one is this thread said Pippen is a better scorer. He is however, a better OVERALL bball player in his prime than Melo.

Posting stats of just Melo's prime and Pippen's entire career including shitty old years is fricking retarded.

You have no credibility after defending that action. Peace out, I'm gone from this shitbucket thread.

I think your giving melo too much credit as an offensive player. He's a career 45 percent shorting combo forward. He's missed alot of shots in his day.

Yeah this too. If Pippen took that many shots (he didn't have to) he would average as many or more pts.

What is obvious to a vast majority seems asinine to you. Maybe you should rethink this.

Well, they averaged the same amount of Defensive Rebounds per game for their careers, with Melo's highest being 6.1 and Pippen's being 6.3.

ETA: It's only one facet of defense, I know, but it can't be disregarded (but I'm sure you guys will find a way to make it so).
