Burke measured bigger than expected and bigger and heavier than CP3 coming out of college. Good agility drills could push him top 3.

Wow. That will make some on here want him more than before since his biggest knock was size. Any official measurements on him?

Shabazz' measurements are most similar to guys that play SG, not SF

And that will make more on here not want him.

Gobert moved into top 10 with measurements and good agility drills would put him top 7

Anybody done more research on him. I've only watched the three or four highlight films and he's huge, but really slow on defense and not that athletic. But he runs better than I thought he would.

As of today, I believe the Pelicans Big Board goes: Noel, McLemore, Oladipo, Porter, Len, Burke, Saric, Gobert.

People are going to be surprised when he's our pick at 5 or 6. I have to say though, I liked what I've seen and read on him.

The OP updated with measurements from relevant players.

quote:

Trey Burke. 5'11.75" in socks. 6'1.25" shoes. 6'5.5" wingspan. Good measurement for him.

I'm really interested in seeing some of the weights, like Gobert's.

And Noel at 206? frick that. He might turn out to be a great player but we simply cannot match him up with Davis.

And yeah...I think Burke works himself out of the 5 range. That is bad for us, because that could mean that the top 4 are Noel, Burke, McLemore, Porter...

Leaving us to try to make a choice between Bennett, Saric, Gobert, Oladipo, Len, etc etc.

42 speculated that the timing of the Hard Hat Presser showing what local government support could do happening while the BOG was deciding Sacramento vs. Seattle wasn't coincidental. Hopefully Benson just did Stern a solid that will be repaid in a few days.

"@DraftExpress: Kelly Olynyk clearly the most skilled big man here. Looks like a guard with his handle and jumper. Measured just 6-10 wingspan vs 7-0 height"

Could be a "bought" pick candidate

That's actually pretty good, considering his age, size, frame. He could be a legit 250-260 I think based on his frame. NBA training program would fill him out.

Wish I could watch the drills at work.

I've seen Olynyk going in the late lottery a lot.

Most projections I've seen are the same, saying he's in the 10-15 range.

The problems with him are reported to be defensive ones as well as him being one of the oldest players in the draft, meaning he's about reached his potential.

That's the kind of player I want when we are that team that is ready to make the jump, kind of like GSW.

We are still about 2 years away. Next year, I want to pick a guy that is a 3-4 year starter that can help us immediately (assuming we are picking late lottery and not top 3, obviously).

His biggest knock has been defense and quickness. Most people knew he would measure out around that size.

No, lots of people speculated he would be like 5'11 with shoes and 170 pounds. Or some stupid shite like that.

Don't know why they would think that. His size was fairly easy to find. And it was widely reported of his wingspan.

Shabazz is only 6'6"? Is he even going to be capable of playing SF in the NBA?

Especially after hearing that he wasn't doing well yesterday, really don't want this guy now

He has great size for a 2 but people question his quickness. He can help himself a lot with a good showing in a few.

Victor Oladipo with a 33" standing vert and a 42" max vert. Wow.

Ben McLemore. 32.5" standing vert. 42" max vert. Very similar to Oladipo. #NBADraftCombine

If you view Cody Zeller as a PF instead of a Center, you will like him a lot more. Numbers actually very similar to Chris Wilcox, David Lee

Zeller is more polished coming out than David Lee was & Lee turned himself into an All-Star, though he has always been a defensive liability

With all tests in, Cody Zeller's #'s look identical to David Lee. I hate comparing white guys to white guys, but that is closes comparison

I said that if R.Gobert could run under 12.5 in agility drill, he could leap into top 7. He ran a 12.85. Similar to B. Lopez, Sullinger, etc

Lack of agility probably takes Gobert out of consideration for the Pelicans. Len is the only big I think they could take if they stay at 5,6

Schroeder is an amazing athlete unlike any in the nba atm. Quickest pg in the draft by far.

He's only 180 pounds, though, and we all know how much you hate 180# point guards....

@chadforinsider:Cody zeller's standing vertical of 35.5" is the highest of any player 6'9" or taller in the past decade. White guys huh?

Ben McLemore. 32.5" standing vert. 42" max vert. Very similar to Oladipo.#NBADraftCombine

Burkes standing reach of 8'1.5" changes a lot in my eyes. Still don't know what we'd do with rivers and vasquez though.
