Off that list I think Pippen, Marbury, and Iverson are all broke. Sure there are others but that's all I really noticed glancing at it.

I forgot about Sprewell and Kemp. Didn't know about the rest.
That's absurd to blow through that sort of money.

Uh MJ at 87 is by far the most ridiculous of that list.

Not adjusted for inflation, asinine to compare a salary in 1982 to one in 2013 (or 2017 for that matter) in a nominal basis.

What was Jordan's salary at UNC?
Posted on 5/12/13 at 9:16 pm to SPEEDY
Is that some kind of comeback? Would you rather me change my post to 1984 to specifically reflect Michael Jordan's career? It's a general comment I figured it was obvious enough it applied to all players as inflation applies in all years. You know what inflation is right?

Wow how do you think these guys feel to know that they pissed away that much money. Freaking crazy.

OK, this is just for you.
Here is Jordan's career salary when adjusted for inflation
Actual salary:
1986-88: $630,000
1987-88: $845,000
1988-89: $2,000,000
1990-91: $2,500,000
1991-92: $3,250,000
1992-93: $4,000,000
1993-94: $4,000,000
1994-95: $3,850,000
1995-96: $3,850,000
1996-97: $30,140,000
1997-98: $33,140,000
2001-02: $1,000,000
2002-03: $1,030,000
TOTAL: $90,235,000
Adjusted for inflation:
1986-87: $1,323,409
1987-88: $1,681,220
1988-89: $3,810,804
1990-91: $4,551,962
1991-92: $5,411,191
1992-93: $6,472,191
1993-94: $6,299,067
1994-95: $5,904,902
1995-96: $5,758,722
1996-97: $43,632,876
1997-98: $47,172,827
2001-02: $1,299,383
2002-03: $1,307,291
TOTAL: $134,625,845
But the salaries ahead of Jordan on that list would also have to be adjusted, so any ground that Jordan gained would be lost

Thanks, can you tell me what you used to adjust it? I'm not trolling I'm honestly curious, it's an interesting topic.

Hmmm...okay. See last question then. ETA: Again, I'm not implying anything specific about Jordan's place on this list, so I'm not sure why you are focusing on that, but that's your call. It was a point about the dataset as a whole.
