Why do we have 2 bye weeks this year

Just noticed last night that the football schedule has 2 bye weeks this year. Anyone know the reason for this?

Have an extra week to get players who are arrested mid season back on the team.

I guess you're new to college football. You play 12 games. Usually in 13 weeks. This year there are 14 weeks because Labor Day is earlier. 14-12=2

Not sure, but if you look at the entire SEC 2013 schedule they all seem to have 2 bye weeks. Don't really care, just hope we give those Gumpers a beatdown this year!
