I know, this isn't TV board. But venture capital is about money, so suck it.

Daymond John bought 37.5% of The Mission Belt Co. for $50,000 on last week's episode of the Shark Tank.

This is the first time I've ever seen a product on that show that I not only wanted to buy, but I would have KILLED to be providing the venture capital. KILLED.

I think Daymond Johns got a steal @ $50K for 37.5%, I would have taken 25% without much objection, and fapped like a mental patient afterwards.

Anybody else see this? What would you have invested?

The difference is quality, I've seen belts without holes, but they are poor quality and look like shite. Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest ones.

I believe, if you look at the fine print of the show, all the investors and the production company get a small cut of any product or service shown on the show for the lifetime of the product. Pretty crazy.

Love that show. No way in hell would I invest in any kind of clothing company.

Personally I think the product licensing is where the real money will be made in this deal. But the belts themselves are a solid product that will be very profitable.

Love the show.

I would have taken 25% as well, the guy was a hell of a salesman too. I thought it was kinda fricked up how Cuban was blowing him for being so dedicated and like he was in the beginning, then simply said "ok, I'm out". Haha, took me by surprise.

meh, you cant train DRIVE. that guy loved his product and was committed to seeing it be successful, thats a lot more impressive than his overall salesman skills.

the best pure pitch i have watched on that show was the organic face cream by the 18yr old chick. partly because she was only 18 and gave such a polished pitch, but mostly just the quality of the pitch.

Love the tv show, but it's not very realistic from a VC perspective. A majority of the "deals" actually fall through after the show due to other details and negotiations.

It's great for people that get their products out there and even better if they can connect with the particular shark in their field though.

Love the belt
