I'm about 1/2 way through season 1. Is it worth my time and dedication to watch all 6 seasons?

Thanks

At least it was important enough to bring out your 18th post.

To the OP, yes.

Smite us with your brilliance, o enlightened one. What have you graced with your omnisciently critical eye that you would deem to display "real writing?" Think carefully though. I wouldn't want you any more bitter or angrier.

It all depend on your view of the show so far and of your trust in writer's. If you can gloss over a lot of obvious problems, it is a ton of fun.

While I wouldn't put it like this, this is true. Some Lost fans will admit, some won't, but this was their (read:Damon Lidelhof's) style of writing (as seen in Prometheus yay!). Some like this, quite a bit actually, and that's ok. To each his own.

But his writing is "meaning through deliberate obfuscation as architect," than actual well constructed narrative intrigue. In short, he sucks, but the rest of the show is pretty good.

top 3 show of all time for me. no show did what it did. it will have you have asking questions, rewatching episodes, going to message boards/timelines to see WTF is going on.

i thought it was brillant and yes you should watch it. great writing

Unfortunately for people like GeauxGriffin, there are things in LOST that you have to figure out by yourself. The writers don't answer all your questions outright. If that sort of thing bothers you, don't watch it.

No, I loved the first few seasons, but the end was a copout. They wrote themselves into a corner and continued to have to jump the shark over and over to get themselves out of it.

The show sold itself on mystique and intrigue and never delivered. The personal growth the characters make is interesting to watch but in the end the show sold itself on trying to figure shite out, and it doesn't resolve in a meaningful way. It's just a waved handed "we ran out of ideas" kind of way to end.

If you enjoy great television, absolutely.

If not, settle for Survivor like the rest of the ADD public.
