We have enough Linebackers. Safety was the right pick.

Like it or not.
Jones will be a a great player, but we already addressed the LB situation... I thought this was obvious?!?
Vaccaro was a great player at Texas and he can play both FS and SS. Is he better than Reid or the other safeties? Well our coaches think so.
Safety was one of the 3 positions we needed to address along with DT and OT.
-Jenkins is no good at safety. Move that hustle back to nickel.
-Now Harper and his contract are finally expendable next year.
-We are rebuilding our terrible secondary... with good players too. Were not messing around either, first Keenan Lewis and now Vaccaro.

I can agree with this. I honestly did not see much of this guys tape or games so I can't really provide any true opinion of his game. We desperate need Safety help so I hope he can become one of our future guys back there.

I'm hoping we can put it together. With the new system, and Tez/Galette/Jordan seeming to be in a better fit, lofton coming back beasting, adding Butler....I'm fairly stoked about the improvement to this defense.

They've addressed the DL and LB issues in the draft last year and free agency this year. Time will get Hicks experience and make him better. They haven't really addressed the Safety issue since Sharper left. I trust the FO and what they are doing to try and make the Defense better.

I completely agree with everything but this. We do not need a NT. We have Bunkley and Hicks and Ryan does not use space eaters. We picked up Coleman and Butler to address DE and OLB to add to what we had. We have vets at ILB.
I think you are missing CB as a need as Greer could be gone next year also, leaving PRob or White as a starter. Based on last year I don't like that scenario, though maybe going back to man they could improve.

Floyd is a 3 tech defensive tackle.

At first glance yeah. Our first thought should definitely be that Vaccaro will become the free safety we desperately need.... but let's see how things shake out.
