Louisville looks really good now, but it wasn't that long ago (about 10 years) that Louisville was on the same level as Memphis.

If you go a little further back than that they were so bad off they almost completely dropped football all together. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the program post-Jurich.

Yet youd rather WVU be in the ACC than the BIG12.

If they went back to 12 teams I think Cincy and Louisville would've made sense, it would've cut out some travel too.

Hindsight I think ACC would take WVU over Louisville right now. But both would be good gets.

Admit it SCH. you'd rather be in the ACC

I'd actually give West Virginia the edge in both football and basketball. WVU is one of the worst academic schools in a BCS conference, however

I can confirm this. Had one of the best college football experiences of my life at WVU. The girls there are hot as shite but dumb as rocks. Like one girl didnt know where the state of Kansas was and asked us to point it out in a map (east part of the US or west part)

Why do people continue to look at short term, current on field results in regard to conference expansion?

Because it matters. You can't judge UL based on their last 10 years. You have to project...and their projection looks pretty good. It's not like this is their one and only good year in any sport

total false misconception

WVU is 165

LSU is 134 not that much of a difference after 100

Ole Miss is 151

Miss State is 161

Arky is in the 130's

UK 125

Lville 160

But using your numbers, WVU is the lowest ranked school

i know but there is no real difference once you get that high, the ACC used to academics high horse card for years then lets Lville in

WVU is also in the smallest state of all those with the least resources thats gets a bad rap b/c the instate standards are low to let everyone in state get in. Kids with 3.0's get turned down out of state and that was when i went back in 2003

There are still AAU schools that are ranked below 100 in USNWR, the lowest being Oregon.

Not quite. It's about research. The SEC definitely is going in the right direction towards getting more schools into the AAU through the conference research consortium. It wouldn't shock me to see Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama as AAU schools by the year 2020.

The only mistake is that they should've grabbed them both. If they keep Strong, they stay relevant. If not, who knows? They fell promptly off the planet for years after Petrino, and were meh before him.

And no, they don't go to the BCS if they're in the BXII last season IMO, which would take the shine off this whole concept.

I've always said that the Big 12 should have taken Louisville over TCU. What does TCU bring to the table that Louisville doesn't?
