I heard of a 4 pound sac au lait caught in Lake Bouef this week. The fish is in the possession of wildlife and fisheries to see if it's a true record. Someone at my work has pictures, I am on a mission to find pics so stop bitching about no pics. It was supposed to be on HTV last night. Maybe Mr. Folse was using his pointer to poke the fish.

Anyone else from da bayou hear this?

Here's the pic

I'm going to bitch about pictures, then say it is nowhere near 4 pounds when you finally do post them.

I'd like to see some pics. That'd be one fat milk sack.

WLF doesn't handle the fish records, but the fish has to be verified by a state biologist to be submitted for the records (which are kept by the Louisiana Outdoor Writer's Association).

A few years ago my dad caught three in one day that together weighed over 11 1/2 lbs. He's the best crappie fisherman I know.

Had a 4lber caught in a lake in my home county 3 or 4 years ago. It was a sight to see. I'll try to come up with a pic
4lb. 0.9oz. and 19" long though its hard to tell from the shite pic. The weight and measuement was state certified though. Missed the new state record by 8 ounces

The guy I had to shank to get the safetyman's pic didn't make it.

I wish I knew how this kind of thing gets started. Rmember that video of the hundreds of alligators in a small canal? It was in Ga. or Fl.(can't recall). Anyway, I got emails saying it was from Saline and all other sorts of la. bayous.

Anyway,

quote:

Where I found it on Google it says 4lb1oz. It's also come from about 4 different lakes.

That fish was 4.7 and caught in Kincaid lake Illinois .

In any event, it's a nice Black White Perch. he better have released it and gotten a Ree-Plea-Cuh made. All those genetics LOST FOREVER!

Fished a private pond near walker and the owner said we could bass fish anywhere except for a deep hole near his house. He said he had a 6lb sac au lait mounted on the wall from that hole. Don't know if that was true.
