Greenberg basically called for dude's head this morning. He brought up the gay kid that was taped by his roommate at Rutgers then jumped off the GW Bridge. Once Greeny went there, it was only a matter of time before Rice got canned.

Would someone please get Mike & Mike's opinion on how Brian Kelly still has a job after two seperate Notre Dame students have died as a result of actions from the football program?

By suspending him for 3 games? That is pretty weak for behavior that could get Rutgers sued by a player. The AD should be gone too for what amounts to a cover up.

Totally agree. The AD shoulve fired Rice after first seeing the video. The proof was there in front of him. Instead, he felt if he fired the other guy all of this would go away and to cover his arse he suspended the coach just to make it seem like swift action was done.
He obviously didnt think the video would get out and now that it has, he is doing all of the damage control he can in order to save his own arse. He obviously wasnt thinking about the best interest of the school and student athletes when he decided to only suspend the coach.

by this time next week, i'd almost guarantee an ESPN special involving crying players, students, and assistant coaches.

Anyone else notice a main point ESPN keeps mentioning about Mike Rice, is his use of a "homophobic slur" um, you mean ****? I think that's the most commonly used put down among men since forever..

Where was ESPN's agenda during the Te'o debacle? They let him off easy

Are you really comparing Teo making up a gf to a coach abusing his players? How the hell are those two even remotely comparable?

what about the ESPN anchor who used the racial slur "chink in the armor" to describe Lin?

Oh yeah, he still works for them. Consistency at its finest

Well, I'm surprised. This was a routine practice according to several on here while they were in HS.

the way ESPN handled the two

ESPN wouldn't admit they fricked up in giving Te'o all the national attention he stumbled upon and therefore sided with him to protect their own anus

They have no ties to Rutgers, so naturally they spin it anyway they can for ratings

Who the frick is ESPN to tell an athletic director that the punishment wasn't severe enough?

I would have unplugged the video feed if I were the AD when Schapp and John Barr ranted yesterday

Can't wait for Jeremy Schaap's hard hitting questions, like "Did it hurt when coach called you a fig? Describe the pain for me"

not at all surprising.

i had 2 guys on the OT tell me earlier in the week that at the age of 34 they both managed to recover from ACL reconstruction and be back to 100% and competing in 5 months. One said he was doing the Insanity workout after 4.5 months.

I was also called a pussy for taking 8 months to feel 100%
