I laughed but I think what made me laugh the most was imagining him saying fig

Just say it in a Cartmen voice and try not to laugh

re: Mike Rice Fired

what about the ESPN anchor who used the racial slur "chink in the armor" to describe Lin?

Oh yeah, he still works for them. Consistency at its finest

Chink in the armor is a common phrase thats been used for years upon years and was NEVER used as a so called racial slur by the anchor. The people that blasted the guy over that were grasping for straws and even Lin laughed at the idea that people would take it that way. Do you TRULY believe e wouldve used that in a derogatory way with his wife being asain?

People are too damn sensitive and so afraid of "offending" someone that shite has gotten out of control with what we are and arent allowed to supposedly say.

then where are the stories from former players talking about how awful he is?

I'm sure you'll see them soon.

You mean like this one:

According to Mike Coburn — a Scarlet Knights guard who was on the team during Rice’s first year — many of the players accepted the head coach’s behavior.

"Looking back at it now, it was extreme," Coburn said when reached by phone yesterday evening. "It wasn’t right what he was doing. But we understood it. He was trying his best. ... Did he go overboard? Yes, he went overboard. But you can’t get a good feel for what went down by seeing highlights on ESPN. No one was scared of coach Rice. We didn’t fear him. We just understood him."

Coburn said a lot of what was depicted on the tape was being taken out of context. He said he and other former players — including Jonathan Mitchell and Mike Kuhn — have returned to Rutgers numerous times since they graduated and were welcomed by Rice.

"No one can get a sense of what went down unless you were there," Coburn said. "And the only people that were there was the team. Do I think what he did was over the top and wrong? Probably. But as players, we weren’t scared. We knew and understood what was going on and mentally tough players could take it. ... I agree it was wrong, but why haven’t they showed the times when Mike Rice was high-fiving and chest-bumping? Why aren’t they showing things like that with the players?"

Bout time he was fired. Rice's behavior was way over the top to justify only a suspension. I expect the AD to get the boot and Eric Murdock gonna get paid.

I  can't stand when a team or school fires a guy solely because of media pressure.

Take a stance of your own and stick with it, just once

He wasnt fired because of his behavior. He was fired because of the national attention.

A pussy is a player who lets a basketball coach throw a basketball at his face just because the coach is an "authority" figure.

re: Mike Rice Fired
What he did was dumb

But, if anything, ESPN is the pussification of America. Never thought I'd see a global network flip out on something so much as to do whatever they could to get a coach fired.

Sounds familiar, eh?

Greenberg basically called for dude's head this morning. He brought up the gay kid that was taped by his roommate at Rutgers then jumped off the GW Bridge. Once Greeny went there, it was only a matter of time before Rice got canned.

He said that because when that kid died, the Rutgers President helped sponsor the Tyler Clementi Center and made a vow to "increase awareness against bullying, the mis-use of social media, and suicide amongst gay youth." While Im sure none of the players were gay, it doesnt look good when your university is sponsoring a program like this and your coach is using the same terms that the organization is trying to fight against.

Once again you have to look at it through a company's eyes and do whats best for the image of the university.

the coach is by far and away the biggest pussy for attacking guys in that situation, there's no doubt about that.

re: Mike Rice Fired
What's that make Bob Knight?
And Ray Lewis?

They both get a free pass?

Rice is the bad guy because he throws balls at someones head...yet Mr. Lewis can kill someone and get praised for winning a Super Bowl?

if he did the same high, the same.

And ray Lewis? LOL

You don't think that's being a pussy to be an authority figure and act like that ONLY because you know players won't retaliate?
