Searched, found nada.

NOLA article

Looks like we may get the option to purchase a lifetime CCW permit. Granted, it's the price of about twenty years worth without taking in consideration inflation.

Also this Barry Ivey character seems like a bad arse. Props to him.

The lifetime permit would cost $500 and no periodic training or courses would be required.

Your CC instructor didn't tell you that the wait time will be cut down to about 3 weeks if you bring all your info to the BR State Trooper headquarters rather than mailing?

he has had students do both and to quote him "there is no rhyme or reason for some of the cards getting back before the others"..

While it is a step in the right direction, why should citizens have to pay a fee and jump through certain hoops to exercise a constitutional right?
We should be a constitutional carry state for any adult who is not a convicted felon or mentally adjudicated.

I completely agree. I also don't see the need for mandetory refresher courses. If you're making the decision to carry, you should make the decision to inform yourself.

I had a great instructor and all, but he isn't infallible. I took it upon myself to do more research, and I will do more every year.
