I couldn't, so I watched it on Wednesday. It's a pretty solid episode.

Not hard to rape and pillage unarmed monks.

Show suffers from lack of a compelling antagonist IMHO. It just strikes me as way too clumsy the way they try to play up the Earl and his henchman (who reminds me a bit too much of the Sicilian from The Princess Bride)as great machivellian schemers. The Earl's wife/woman probably has the most potential in the "bad guy/girl" department. But so far it's mostly untapped.

The brother could develop into an enemy. They're already showing him resenting Ragnar's power, and he wants to frick his wife.

The brother is going to be a huge enemy. Solid episode. Next week should be wonderful.

Eventually the English will get their shite together and start providing some resistance as well

Seems to be where they're going with him. He could potentially make a much more interesting enemy than the chieftain guy, and the chieftain seems like a temporary antagonist anyway. I'd imagine Ragnar will want to supplant him at some point.

To be fair, its only the 3rd episode of the 1st season. It takes a while to get the background on any character in any show before you start having the good guys and bad guys. Gotta create the history and all that. That said, looks like the brother, the Earl, and the Earls wife are the antagonist. I hate that dude thats always with the Earl that strangled that little kid. Hes annoying. Also like how they incorporated Eric the Red in this episode.
