Presenting at a medical conference Friday in NOLA at Windsor Court. The powers that be are taking a few of us out for dinner afterward. Any suggestions in that area? Been a while since I was out in NOLA and know there are some newer pretty nice places.

Not to sound grumpy, but if the "powers that be" were any good, they would have had this set up weeks ago.

Seriously, there are many great places to consider. Do you have some kind of places or price ranges so suggest?

Right across the street from the hotel is Restaurant August, which is a top 5 place.

You can't go wrong with the restaurant in the Windsor Court. It's pretty good. Go to Sobou or Revolution for good food and a good time.

Actually, the big "powers" won't be there, so they're giving us the credit card to have a good dinner

Just something nice for a few doctors to enjoy after hearing ourselves talk about interesting cases.

Ignore Paul Allen. He's a food board troll.

As others have suggested, August is just across the street from the back of the hotel. I've had lunch in the Grill Room of the WC, but not dinner, though I believe it's been getting good reviews with the most recent chef. Had a good charcuterie board via room service when I stayed there in January. Headed back this month for 4 nights and considering the Grill Room myself for one night.

Are y'all interested in more typical New Orleans fare or anything else in particular?

Anything with good food and good atmosphere for a good dinner and a couple drinks. May have to try out August. I've heard a lot of good things and we wouldn't have to drive or get a cab or even walk far. May check out the Grill Room too.

Thanks for the suggestions

I still suggest August next door.

The Windsor Court has a pretty good bar for listening to music before or after a nice dinner too.

Have fun.

Check soon...with a conference at the WC, both will likely book pretty strong that evening.

Sidenote: room rates are full retard right now. I miss the $99 rates we were getting post katrina up to about 2 yrs ago. Rates are def back up to prekatrina prices now.

Agree, the bar at the WC is very nice. Good place for after dinner drinks after your meal. I usually go in there for a bit after dinner and pick up a few after dinner items to partake on the balcony of my room.

OG, I forgot to try the link. I was watching Idol.
