Loaded up my three newest pistols, the wife and son and went to the range yesterday.

She has only been to the range with me a few times before and mostly just sat and watched.

I laid out my Ruger SR22, Sig SP2022 and Sig Nightmare 1911.

I then began to go through the operation of each and describing the safety rules she should follow, how to grip the firearms, etc.

She naturally gravitated to the SR22 since it was small, easier to load and lightweight.

After shooting it, she loved it and said she would just "stick with this one"

Of course, I purchased the SP2022 with her in mind and coaxed her to try it.

She liked it pretty well except for the extremely aggressive stippling which hurt her hands.

Then it happened...she picked up my new Nightmare and it was all over. She couldn't care less about the other two now.

She shot all of them well but was tearing the center out of the target with the 1911. As much as I hate to admit it, she was outshooting the hell out of me and my son.
I just let her go with it and by the time we left, she was running that 1911 like an old pro.
She ran through two boxes of .45 all by herself!

All the way home and afterwards she was still gushing about how damn good that 1911 felt in her hands and how she should buy herself one.

Funniest thing... she had just got a new Coach purse that she ordered in the mail this week...she looks at the purse and said "Damn a Coach purse, I want a new Sig! I might just send it back!"

So...it looks like I might be in the market for a new 1911. It doesn't look like I will get in much range time with it if I take her along. That or I will just have to stand and hold her Coach purse and watch her shoot!

Put the new 1911 in the new coach purse and get her a concealed carry. Win-win

Is this when you "knew she was the one?"

Yep, she has been talking about wanting to get her CCDW permit too. We are planning on taking the classes together in the next couple of months.

I wonder if Coach makes 1911 grips?

Yeah, bought mine a Shield to tote. Told her I'd get her a smaller .380 for purse but she won't give me the Shield back.

You know, I contemplated about this and even asked her what attracted her to the 1911. She said she couldn't explain it, but it just "feels right".

I attribute this to the ergonomic perfection that John Browning designed so many years ago. Nothing, just NOTHING compares to a well made 1911 in your hand.

I just showed my wife your post. She said, "it's the combination of weight, smoothness, and power of the 1911 platform."

I'm so proud

Women tend to be better shots with pistols than men cuz you are supposed to lean forward when shooting. Women's tits give them an advantage regarding this.

My wife tried shooting a 1911 once. She hit herself in the forehead.

Won't shoot anything more than a 9mm now.

My wife wants a kimber ultra carry. She looked at one a while back at the range and tells me everytime we go shooting that we should buy it.
