Downtown where the old Bonsai Sushi used to be. They've already started renovations inside but i'm not sure when they're expected to open.

If you're familiar with the area, i've also heard they're turning the little parking lot (holds like 8-10 cars) directly behind the building into an outdoor seating area.

Pretty excited about this. Anyone hear when they're supposed to open?

Meh, looks like another Agave or Coyote Blues. I'll go because I like Tex-Mex, but we have enough of that here. Hopefully I'm wrong and it'll be something different.

I saw this last month. I'm sure they will do well, but I'm not sure they will be able to do well enough to keep up with that rent.

There used to be an "Authentic" Mexican Place, on Cameron, near Bertrand. (Bring an Interpreter.)
Was very good - Food, and Atmosphere.
Still in Business: El Ranchito. 2415 Cameron St. The Real Deal.

If I'm craving Mexican, I haven't found any place I like better. Always have a great meal there.

Excluding more authentic taquieras, La Caretta is tied with Casa La Vida for my favorite Tex Mex in BR.

Screw the haters

They have all of the items that I like that other places for some reason skip out on, they have lots of options to order that depend on hunger level, and their queso is my absolute favorite of anywhere.

Coyote Blues is good, but it's a different type of Tex Mex and I prefer La Caretta's type better.

I had no idea it was a large chain until I saw one in Pigeon Forge.

I like both of these places. I was disappointed in Acme Burger, though. It's right around the corner from my house and I was really hoping for a go-to burger place. Have you been there?

This. Coyote Blue does better with presentation and atmosphere than actual food. Not that it's horrible, but I like La Carreta a bit more.

Not that it's saying much. This is Louisiana, not Laredo or San Antonio. The Tex-Mex choices here are about like the cajun choices in San Antonio.

Jiggy0, I went to Acme Burger a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. I got the Tree Hugger (with sprouts on wheat bun), and liked it. Would try again.

La Carreta is mediocre at best. Coyote Blues in Laffy was good when it first opened but it has gone way down hill over the past few years IMO.

Acme Taco blows both of those joints out of the water. Not even close.
