I have a Kamado Joe and have zero complaints.

BGE, primo, grill dome and kamado joe are all solid grills.

they turn people who know nothing about cooking into master chefs as soon as they are put together.

Ha, thanks. Very far from an expert but I do enjoy it. I think any of the ceramic styles work about the same. I'm still getting used to it myself.

I use mine 2-3 times per week. Best money ever spent. I have the large model and it is plenty big.

I've had a large BGE for about 6 months and I like it, but then I liked every bbq pit I've ever owned. The temperature control and the vents work a little differently from other pits I've owned, and they takes a while to get used to.

There is indeed a learning curve. I have a K J, but any of the HIGH quality ceramic cookers will make you happy. I have not touched my gas grill since I got my KJ two years ago

My dad has 3 of them

He used to be obsessed with them

That changed a bit after he recently had a heart attack. Turns out eating salty smoked meat 12 times a week might have some health consequences.
