| [Money Making] For the owners/operators, share your snowball stand tips here. (Posted on 2/26/13 at 10:20 pm)
I may be in the market for opening a snowball stand this summer or next summer. What kind of profits do you make? How much do you pay workers? Do you have a storefront or haul a trailer behind your pickup? Thanks in advance

Guy I know had a little trailer and bought it cause his high school kids wanted to make money. After about 3 weeks, the kids decided they were bored and the dad ended up running for the rest of the summer. He is currently trying to sell the snowball stand. He was able to secure a location through a friend, the friend didn't charge him any rent. He said you can make decent $$ if you can find people who are trustworthy and dependable.

Trailer/Mobile is by far your best bet. The big money is competing with turf contracts at festivals, youth sporting events/tourneys, etc.

I'm pretty sure the guys on Burbank are making bank. There is always a line there and they have a wonderful location for their target demographics.

That one is insane... consistent line 10 deep and sometimes out to the street.

Snowballs are good from March to the end of September. After one year it seems you can get your investment back. The seasons after that it seems to be all gravy.
