You'll never get anyone to agree with a list like that, in its entirety. But, its a fairly decent list. Little odd that not a single place on Frenchmen made it, yet it has a few from the nearby St. Claude Ave strip. Always Lounge (even at #25) is a HUGE stretch though.

I knew before looking that the Saint would be near the top. Interesting that Ste. Marie is on there, since it seems like the type of place hipsters run in fear from

I'll say this, its A LOT better than the "25 douchiest bars" list. But yeah it is still laughable.

Not having Avenue is definitely a bad sign but this list is at least better than that douche bar list.

Ridiculous that Avenue Pub isn't on there. Absinthe House has no business being on there. Minus those two issues, not a terrible list. Don't necessarily agree with the ordering, but I like pretty much all the bars on there. Mimi's should be top 5, as well

I've been to 13 of the 25 but I don't really frequent any of them.

How the hell does Avenue Pub not crack someone's Top 25?

Putting "Best" in the title is misleading. In the article he say, "Here are the places where the average tourist would never go:"

The clientele at Cure is terrible, I would never willfully go there.

Capdeville is certainly not a bad bar, but it isn't top 25. Sylvain, to me, is a restaurant not a bar.

In all, a good list, but a major FAIL for not including the Dungeon.

Rusty Nail: it's the unofficial Alabama bar in NOLA, meaning that on Saturdays in the fall, its packed to the gills with mouth-breathing Gumps yelling "Roll Tide!" every time Nick Saban reaches down to adjust his nuts. Still, I find the place endearing.

It's so hard to list a "best" because certain bars meet certain needs. How about this- list the five bars you couldn't do without.

1. Chart Room
2. Evangeline Lounge
3. R Bar
4. dba
5. Rusty Nail

Sorry wink, the only way we here in modern America know how to judge things is if they're categorized and put into best or worst lists.
