TWIC Card Holders - "Delay" status when purchasing a firearm

I have a TWIC card and everytime a purchase a firearm i get the "delay" status. Any other TWIC'ers expereince this? I was told 99% of TWIC card holders experience the "delay" due to the elevated level of checks required to obtain a TWIC.

I have a TWIC card but the delay status started before i got the card. I get the Mrs to buy guns & they never delay her

I've had a TWIC since its inception and have never had any firearm purchase delayed.

I have had a TWIC card for a while now. I have never had a delay. Have probably purchased 5-6 guns since having a TWIC card.
I am also in TX so I don't know if that makes a difference.

TWIC card background check much more extensive than FFL instant checks. Was told because of this level of inquiry into one's background tends to cause delays in instant checks.

Not delayed, but put on hold by NICS for 5 minutes when the guy in front of me goes right through... I asked my counter guy why am I always put on hold?

Haven't bought a gun since I got a TWIC.
Seems like it would eliminate the need for any paperwork much less delays

I have a TWIC and have never had a problem. Maybe because I have the card but never actually used it for anything.
