Restructure? They need to redo those bitches or dump them. There's no way we can spend that kind of money (spread out or not) on players that may not even fit into a 3-4.

I hope by restructure, that means major pay cuts for both and not just kicking the can down the road again. Not for these too rapidly aging guys anyway.

I think this is a case of Schefty tweeting the obvious and making it seem like news.

They really should just cut these two. Honestly, if they don't take huge pay cuts, hit the road.

Vilma knew this was coming...His response in bold.

From his twitter:

quote:

Payton says he sees a role for jonathan vilma....well jonathan vilma likes what jonathan vilma's coach is talking about. Holla!

quote:

"@davidepalmer: @JonVilma51 Sure there's a place for Vilma...if he's willing to take a paycut" who invited debbie downer to the party? Smh

I agree but I will say it'd be nice for Vilma to prolong his saints career a bit. He's a good guy and a good locker room leader. I hope he can be upgraded on the field though but if he's cheap enough, rather him than a herring or humbar or whomever else. Will Smith, i say its time.

I agree. Smith is dead weight. I really don't see how Vilma is gonna fit in unless he bulks up, which might not be a good idea at this age.

Am I the only one who wouldn't mind keeping Smith? I just think his size fits the 3-4 de well and he gets decent push with his bull rush because let's face it that's pretty much his only move. If he is willing to take a pay cut I'd love to keep him

He doesn't anchor well though. Honestly he'd be better off dropping weight and getting back some of his speed.

I don't think Will is strong enough or big enough to be successful.

Using that logic we would dump all 11 starters on Def.
I thought for being in a new system coming in late in the season off a big injury he did OK.
Would like to see him in camp and competing for a spot.
