I'm not a big beer drinker, but it seems like everywhere I go I see or hear people talking about Canebrake. What exactly am I missing? I'm going to Mike Anderson's Sat. night and I see they have Canebrake draft........

It's local so that gives it a boost around here. But most people I talk to really like it.

I've had it on tap at a local bar several times and I think it's pretty good especially being a local brew.

It's local, good hot weather or all night beer, and is much better than any BMC product.

These facts plus the inoffensive taste make it good for the person who typically drinks BMC products.

These facts plus the brewery is set to do some amazing things is what makes it ok with the beer geek crowd.

Being a bit of a beer snob, I consider it to be somewhat mediocre. However, it's the beer I've been using lately to try to convert your typical "lager macrobrew" crowd. That said, it's an enjoyable brew, especially for outside entertaining/entertainment. It's just nothing particularly special in the grand scheme of things.

I've just never really been into beer; it all tastes like shite to me. I keep thinking that maybe it's just that I haven't found a really good beer? Only beers I can tolerate are Killian's Irish Red and Abita Purple Haze, and I certainly wouldn't go out of my way for either.

I haven't tried it so I can't form an opinion on the quality

I just assumed that it was successful since they use Steen's Cane Syrup

The OP starts a thread about why a beer is so good and hates beer. Love it.

Well, beer ranges in flavors from bitter hops to something akin to raspberry champagne, and everything around and in between. Instead of me guessing what you might like, why don't you tell me what, exactly, it is about beer you typically don't like?

Agree with urinetrouble on all points. Like, not love it, would trade the two cases I currently have of it for one case of Racer 5, or twelve Pliny The Elder, Firestone-Walker.
