| Thoughts and opinions of the Sig Mosquito (Posted on 2/15/13 at 12:44 pm)
What is the OB's opinion of the Sig Mosquito? I've heard mixed reviews, mostly bad ones. I posted in THIS THREAD FROM THIS MORNING but it appears to have gotten the power pole.

No first hand experience, but why throw money at a gun with bad reviews when there are good guns out there...

I never shot one but want one. When I get around to trading my wife's 380 in for a 38 Spcl, I plan on buying the Mosquito or Walther for her. I know the Walther is badass.

I'd rather have a buckmark, Ruger mk3(or whatever it is), or a Single Six.

I've always kinda liked the look and feel of it and was just wondering if maybe the problems were with an early model or something like that. Maybe the later models were better. There's tons of opinions out there on other message boards but I figured I would ask here and get the opinions of people "I know". Just curious is all.

Sorry, man. I'm not THE Sig guy on the board, but I should at least know more about it than I do. I did read as far as "ambidextrous manual safety", freakin slide mounted, at that, and saw a red flag there. I don't understand why Sig wouldn't just make an adapter for P226 to fire .22LR - it seems easier and more in line with their new thinking (the modular P250, for example) - the blueprint is already there with the numerous kits for 1911s to fire .22. On paper, to me, as a Sig guy, I would just pass and move on down the line.

Then I would probably want a Mosquito as well. I have a Buckmark and want to buy a Single Six

And I have a Kimber .22 conversion and a Heritage .22 revolver. I just like .22 pistols.

It might be time to admit that there is a problem.

I wouldn't recommend one. The have a lot of problems with ammo. I would recommend a Browning Buckmark Camper. The Stainless Buckmark at Academy go for $329.99 LINK

Yes. Something about them I don't care for but I can't pinpoint it.

I've had mine for a few years. The manual recommends only using CCIs. It came with an additional spring to install if you want to shoot cheap bullets. I have no complaints. Feels great, shoots great.

Have you seen the Browning 1911 only 1/3 the actual size?

I own one, it likes the CCI ammo. Other than that no issues at all.

I have one and enjoy the hell out of it. It will stovepipe if not cleaned regularly. I find it cycles really well when I use a bit of case oil lightly rubbed on a handful of ammo before loading the mag.
