What's a good beer to pair with gumbo?

I'm making some chicken with andouille and tasso gumbo.

Just finished a Courir de Mardi Gras from Bayou Teche with my chicken & smoked sausage gumbo. Seemed to wash it down quite nicely.

I'm new to the craft beer scene, a saison is a pale ale type beer? I had to google it.

would not compare to a pale ale at all

light, lower ABV to work well with the hot gumbo, and will often have fruity and/or spicy notes

Several very good saisons at Whole Foods in BR, if you live in the capitol.

I'm in Texas, I'll have to make a run to Spec's, they should have some. Any particular ones?

Ommegang's Hennepin is a nice saison and should be available at Spec's.

Then you have more quality options available to you than we do across the Sabine.

i found a Pliny the Elder IPA in my GF's fridge last week, which went perfect with the Chicken and Andouille gumbo i had just made. I Can't find it here, so I would go with a St. Arnold's Elissa IPA or maybe Abita Jockomo.
