Watched Killer Joe over the weekend and thought it was much better than I was expecting. Found it twisted, but entertaining. I thought Thomas Haden Church and Emile Hirsch gave great performances as the dim-witted father and son. Juno Temple was amazing as the sister. Matthew McConaughey was good, but as in almost every role he plays, I just see Matthew McConaughey, not the character.
Overall, I liked it. Took me a while to realize it was filmed in Nola area(looks like mostly Westbank, Slidell, New Orleans East). Not a big fan of the ending:

Does she kill Joe? Does she ride off into the sunset with him and have her baby? I'm not clear on this. I want her to kill him and get the hell away from her nut job family that whored her out. She was a little cuckoo herself, but I found her kind of crazy endearing in that, awww, she's so clueless kind of way, but she wasn't as clueless as we were supposed to believe.

I wanted her to say her baby was the mother's boyfriends baby..cant remember his name..and then kill Joe and walk out

 That would have been awesome. I think his name was Rex. I was under the impression that Joe killed him though. I really wanted Dottie to get the check some kind of way

Rex, thats it. I thought Thomas Haden Church was great. I too wanted Dottie to get the check some kind of way. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would

killer joe was so much fun to watch
and the final dinner scene is like one of the best scenes of all time

The ending was a bit much for me, though overall I liked the movie. Apparently it was originally a play--makes you wonder how that last scene transmitted to the stage.

put me down as another fan...
Thomas Haden Church when Matthew was smacking around the wife after he learned she cheated was hilarious...
And Juno Temple...great acting...
As for the final scene...I thought they went off into the sunset together...maybe even dropping Church off at the hospital

I think that too. Even if he did have a fricked up way about doing it, he was the only one to treat Dottie as if she was a normal, pretty girl, and he listened to her stories. That's all she wants so she probably fell in love with him instantly.
